We use Baker & Spice gourmet coffee beans. Freshness is key. We ensure a 3 week turnaround so that you get the freshest beans. Our Baristas use their hearts to make coffee. Our smoothies and juices are what they should be - Fruity, cool, healthy.

We are wine lovers, backed by a team of experienced wine experts. We import our wines directly, there is no middle man. Hence our low prices. It is our competitive edge.

Wine & Spice have selected 50 out of more the 300 wines from 6 countries: Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Spain, France and Austria. We travelled to some of the best boutique wineries around the globe to bring you unique labels, available only through Wine & Spice. It was a tough job tasting and deciding, but we are very proud of our selections.

Retail wines are available for direct sale at Baker & Spice. Wine & Spice wines are available for quaffing at all of our establishments.

A young-ish Dane had trouble finding a good sandwich in Shanghai, 1999. And so he opened a café - Wagas. The name Wagas came about after a few beers with friends, he simply liked the sound of it. His name is John Christensen. John is actually in the logistics business and has lived in China since 1995. When he is not doing the logistics thing, you will find him at one of the cafes eating a Wagas sandwich.

A young-ish Australian born New Guinean Chinese embarked on a Shanghai adventure in 1999. She left her Sydney café in an attempt to learn the Chinese language. John met Jackie by chance, and in Chinese that would be loosely described as Yuan fen. Jackie initially joined the company as shop manager in 2001 at the first Wagas located in Citic Square, and then later became John's business partner and of course good friend.

In addition to Wagas cafes, we have an extended family of concepts.
